Is perfection good?

If Memphis goes into the tuornament unbeaten, does that give them and advavtage or disadvantage in the tournament? Will the nerves target on their backs from being the only unbeaten become so big the it is harder for them to play with a clear minds. Before KU lost they had another team another team they were sharing the spotlight with, but now it is all on them. If they lose to Tenneessee or a team in C-USA will that act as a "wake up call" or relieve the pressure enough to make it easier on them deep in the tournament?
